O’s Mommy picked up an Action Baby Carrier a few weeks ago to try to mix into our carrier rotation (of one). We have been pretty much exclusively using our toddler size Tula. So why not try something new and economical as the ABC?
First off, I want to say kudos to ABC, they are an American company, made in America. Now that’s something I can really get behind. I love American made products.
When I first put on the carrier, I noticed that I really like the way it buckled and how light it was. The thing is very light. I like that. I like how the built-in hood is a continuation of the back panel and that it doesn’t snap onto the shoulder pieces, it loops on. That makes it quieter and less painful from not smashing a tiny plastic snap into your shoulder.
I have to say it looks good too. We got the ‘Elle’ print and its pretty cool. Its turquoise with some elephants.
There is one thing that would stop me from making this carrier my preferred carrier, and that is the strap that connects the back panel to the shoulder strap, lets call it the underarm strap. That thing digs into me right where my pectoral and arm pit meet, and it hurts after about 10 min.
I like to wear O pretty tightly, maybe that is a cause. Possibly because I’m a pretty big guy too. I’m not sure, but I feel like if that one design element could be fixed it would be one of the most comfortable carriers I have tried before.
